The Doctor And The Saint By Arundhati Roy

Discrimination In pre Independent India- is easily seen in each part of it's society i.e.' politically, socially and economically. Violation of basic rights is due to caste, religion, work they do, and at place they live is all you see in India. People are treated worst than animal. But thing's are changing with the time but not with that pace as required, this is the reason why we see so many problems after 70 year's of independent India.
About the book- This book introduce you to with one of the most marginalised section of society and it's struggle for rights in pre and post independent India. This book basically cover the idea of two jewel's of Indian history Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and Gandhi ji.

Dr. Ambedkar ideology which is more relevant and practical (which says about constitutional right's)with the situation is beautiful describe by her.
At the same time she criticise Gandhi for his ideal thinking( with his religious book manusmriti) which is par behind for equal rights to dalit's. She elaborate Gandhi as more close to religion and caste. This book cover much more than i write here. That's why -
