Hundred year after his birth, his stories on society making space in today's world show's how brilliant writer he was.
Manto was writing at the time of partition of India and the pain he felt reflects in his writing. He is very bold in his writing and mention the act of sequence as it is. His stories which he write in Urdu have special space in short stories writing. His understanding of human nature, and the role play of his narrative has immense sources of insight into the human condition.
Later, His life plagued by financial crisis alcoholism and legal case in his final year of life. But then also he lived life with his own wish and never compromise with his writing. He always very truthful in his stories and his writing action. A great short story writer of his time. 
About the Book - This book is collection of his short stories which is beautifully translated by Aatish Tasveer who maintain the lyricism and power of Mantos's voice.
